Position Title: Staff Accountant
Reports to: Controller
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
This position is responsible for keeping the Agency financially organized. You will prepare and record assets, liabilities, revenue, and expense entries with account information while resolving any discrepancies.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred for this candidate, as well as 3+ years of Accounting/Finance experience. This position requires knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and ability to learn additional software or applications. Knowledge in the Property/Casualty Insurance Industry is a plus. This is a detail-oriented role in which the ideal candidate is analytical, problem-solving, and cooperative.
•Prepare precise reconciliations of all trust, operating, and money market accounts and credit card statements
•Research and resolve discrepancies in balance sheets
•Managing the accounting email and correspondence with senders
•Keep current on payments and perform company and vendor payables
•Reconcile employee expense statements
•Processing bi-weekly payroll, auditing timecards, employee changes, expense allocations, and other changes
•Daily Monitoring of bank balances; reviewing transactions/balances on all accounts
•First of month payables and billing
•Provide various state and federal tax filings, weekly cash transfer reports, and capitalized assets to Acrisure
•Maintenance and organization of all Accounting related files
