Scott joined Hickok & Boardman Insurance Group in July of 1982, as a Property and Casualty Agent and was elected Vice President in 1989. In 1992, Scott was elected Executive Vice President and named Chief Operating Officer of Hickok & Boardman Insurance Group. In 1994, Scott was elected President and CEO.  In 2021, he assumed the sole role of CEO.

Scott is a graduate of Holy Cross College where he received a B.A. in Economics in 1982. He holds his designation as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter.  He is a member and past-President of the Vermont Chapter of CPCU, as well as a past-President of the Vermont Insurance Agents Association (VIAA). Scott currently serves as a director of Mercy Connections, A.N. Deringer, and PC Construction Company.
